The Full Buck Moon - What Does it Mean?

As the moon stretches into the night, tonight it will be full and at its highest energy… but what does this mean, and what can we do?

Firstly., the energy of the moon affects each of us in different ways but ultimately, with the full moon we can feel a rush of energy and an enhanced connection to the world around us, making this the perfect opportunity to work with meditation and ceremony.

Here are 5 tips for honouring the moon:

-          Take some time to step outside and simply see the moon and breathe

-          Eat cleanly, as if it is in honour of the moon, simple foods with wholesome flavours, seasonal produce and a tentative preparation

-          Write down your intentions for the coming month

-          Do something you enjoy – don’t forget to have fun

-          Ask the moon to cleanse you and your space

Historically the moon has been revered, even taking the form of Gods in ancient pantheons, like Selene from Greece or Khonsu from Egypt. Diana and Artemis are revered as deities of the hunt, the night and of the moon, offering insight, direction and skill during this time.

The moon is named the Buck Moon in July and is regarding as offering an essence of joy, relaxation, freedom and excitement – likely due to its elemental house of fire and home in summer. Tonight the moon will sit in Capricorn, which is an adaptive star sign of the Earth House whilst the Sun currently sits in Cancer, a water sign. These energies will offer guidance and balance during the otherwise energising essence of the Buck Moon.

Take some time to sit with yourself and check in, and don’t forget to let the moonlight kiss your crystals, jewellery, meditation tools, tarot decks and the such – it will give them a wonderful boost of bright white energy.
