What is Gridding?

Whether you are new to spirituality or have been working with meditation and healing for a while, you may have heard of the term 'Gridding', so, what is it?
Simply, it is the connecting of relevant objects tied together for a specific reason.
This doesn't mean tied physically but when items are chosen with a specific intention and placed in accordance to one another they are then temporarily 'tied' together and as such will work together to help you achieve said intention.
Typically this will include numerology or some form of pattern but ultimately all you need is an intention and items that can enhance that. These can be crystals, pebbles, water, potion bottles, clay guardians, tarot cards, feathers, leaves - nearly anything, as long as they are relevant.
Relevance is key - so to begin, you need to choose what your intention is.
Say you want to set up a simple grid for protection, we know that the Earth Element is brilliant for that and the number 4 in Egyptian Numerology is great for building and stability, so you would lean into that.
You often want some key-holder or focal point, for this, we will suggest our Earth Potion Bottle, it is large, attractive, draws the eye and will easily hold the energy of the grid.
If you have crystals, 4 tourmalines or moss agate would be the ideal addition. Failing that, why not try acorns or dried rowan berries? Both are protective trees and perfect for this.
Finally, we would use our Earth Clay Guardian for that final dose of magic and if you want to amp the grid up a bit, you could use cards from the tarot deck, especially the 4 of pentacles, King of Pentacles, The Hermit and the Ace of Pentacles.
The fun part comes in where once your intention is set, you can truly be led by your intuition and Sekhem, Colour Theory, Reiki, Yoga, Tarot... they can all weave their way into your work.
Now that the grid is made, it is ready for you to work with it - light an incense, a candle or simply visit the grid from time to time.
And that is the basics on gridding.
